OVERVIEW
The Resource Development Specialist for Home Study & Post Release Services (HS/PRS) is responsible for creating written and video educational materials for unaccompanied children (UCs) and their sponsors, as well as resources to be utilized by HS/PRS staff and other social service providers working with UCs. This position reports to the Program Manager of the UC Resource Center.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop psychoeducational videos and handouts in multiple languages for unaccompanied children and their families
– Create written and video resources for HS/PRS staff and other social service providers working with UCs to promote providers’ knowledge and use of best practices
– Research relevant subject matter/topics to create accurate and relevant support materials for USCRI’s UC Resource Center
– Maintain working knowledge of external relevant online resources and materials to share with HS/PRS staff and other providers through the UC Resource Center
– Organize materials for providers and families on the UC Resource Center
– Assist with development of training materials in collaboration with the training team, as needed
– Conduct needs assessments and analyze various data to identify resource needs
– Develop resource development plan in collaboration with the Program Manager – UC Resource Center
– Other duties as assigned by supervisor

REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science, education, or social services field with at least three years’ experience in child welfare, case management, and working with immigrant children
– Excellent organizational, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
– Experience in resource development, video production, and graphic design preferred
– High proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel is required
– Experience in Articulate Storyline 360 as well as eLearning development is highly preferred
– Strong technology skills
- Strict adherence to timeframes, policy, and procedures
– Ability to prioritize duties and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
– Ability to work well independently and in a team
– Ability to track and analyze data
– Position is remote and the candidate must have an appropriate workspace to complete documentation, phone calls, and video conferencing
– Fluency in Spanish is required; proficiency in additional languages a plus
– Candidate must demonstrate a commitment to comply with mandatory state reporting requirements for child abuse and neglect
– Candidate must have dedication to the human rights of refugees, immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced people
– Candidate must pass a criminal background check that includes history of conviction of child and sexual abuse
– Demonstrated support of USCRI’s values by exhibiting respect for others, maintenance of confidential information, and an appreciation of a multicultural workplace
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
- Satisfactory completion of USCRI’s Orientation and Training
– Satisfactory completion of funder required trainings upon hire and on an annual basis
– Complete additional training as identified by supervisor or Human Resources
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity
– Use of repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting and standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands
– Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying
– Quantitative/mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, standard measurements)
