About the Role & Team

On the Data Insights & Analytics team, our mission is to develop high-quality and sustainable data-driven solutions to improve profitability, growth and the user experience. As an Analytics Engineer, you’ll work with all the key stakeholder groups to help them leverage data to track performance, make better decisions and ultimately reach their goals. The ideal candidate has strong communications skills, a passion for data, a background in quantitative analysis and likely has an interest in professional sports, betting & eSports.

About the Work

As a key member of our Analytics Engineering team you will:

  • Liaise with business stakeholders to identify data driven projects and opportunities.
  • Liaise with data engineers to build data pipelines and solve related issues.
  • Use your SQL expertise to develop dbt models.
  • Manage Airflow tasks and scheduling.
  • Assist team members in solving data issues related to both analysis and modeling.
  • Complete analyses and present clear recommendations to business stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to apply data modeling and advanced analytics techniques to drive insights.
  • Oversee team’s analysis to ensure data and insights shared are accurate and informative.
  • Help with implementation & adoption of a data exploration tool across the organization
  • Provide support on data analyst hiring, onboarding and continued professional development. Mentor Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers
  • Work with the leadership team to define strategy & direction of Analytics at theScore.

About You

  • University degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in analytics, preferably at a digital company.
  • Strong Knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, including building models and documentation.
  • Experience with a data exploration tool such as Looker or Tableau.
  • A passion and curiosity for solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches.
  • Ability to take complex data and present it in a clear manner to cross-functional groups.
  • Knowledge of analysis tools; Python preferred.
  • Experience supporting a business domain such as Data Science and/or Data Analytics would be an asset.
