We are seeking a talented and experienced Platforms Security (DevSecOps) Engineer with expertise in Terraform, AWS, and scripting to join our dynamic and innovative technology team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in implementing and managing security practices within our Platforms processes, ensuring the seamless integration of security measures throughout the software development lifecycle. The Platforms Security Engineer will collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to create a robust and secure development environment, utilizing Terraform for infrastructure-as-code (IaC), AWS cloud security features, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation.

Security

• Identify and own targets and improvements to security posture
• Deliver Automation for inventory management alignment with security policy

Observability:

• Establish and maintain continuous security monitoring across development and production environments.
• Respond promptly to security incidents and provide thorough analysis of incidents for remediation.
• Improve monitoring and ensure that all critical alerts are delivered to a responsible individual.
• Support engineering teams to implement observability principles in all components, and provide a consolidated view of our applications.
• Provide a platform for access to all relevant metrics, logs and traces.

Infrastructure and Cloud Management:

• Be involved in the on-going improvement of our Cloud (AWS) Architecture and network infrastructure.
• Deliver automation for infrastructure and cloud, with a focus on eliminating TOIL, reducing time to deliver and increasing repeatability.
• Reduce undifferentiated heavy lifting by adopting cloud native and vendor managed services.
• Work towards better and more consistent configuration management.
• Be identified by your peers as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Platform Security

Deliver and support platform features and tools

• Participate in discovery.
• Conduct PoC evaluation.
• Be involved in build or buy discussions.
• Deliver infrastructure and configuration.
• Support and provide training.
• Participate in infrastructure and platform support, including an On-Call roster as required.
• Participate in incident management and resolution.
• Contribute documentation to operationally support platform tools and software.
