The Opportunity
To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to join our Core Product team. This role will lead an experienced team of engineers focused on leveraging machine learning to develop contextually-aware communication assistance for our users.
Grammarly’s engineers and researchers have the freedom to innovate and uncover breakthroughs—and, in turn, influence our product roadmap. As the Engineering Manager of the Core Product ML team, you will lead the development of innovative new Grammarly features leveraging contextual inferences using cutting-edge technologies, including machine learning and generative AI. Your team will draw insights from large amounts of raw data to build products that deliver an optimal and delightful experience to the user. Additionally, these contextual inferences will enable us to deliver maximum value for cross-functional partners across Product, Design, Sales, and Growth.
Qualifications
- Has 5+ years of relevant experience managing high-performing engineering teams with a track record of shipping measurable impact and value to customers.
- Is knowledgeable about machine learning, generative AI, natural language processing, and related technologies.
- Demonstrates ability to lead and mentor a team. Effectively sets and communicates priorities for themselves and their team while driving execution.
- Has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to dive deep into technical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment, including with remote teams.
- Has the ability and desire to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where things change quickly.

Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations. In Canada, all locations where we support employment are considered “Zone 1”.
Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined below by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.
United States:
Zone 1: $329,000 – $399,00/year (USD)
Zone 2: $296,000 – $359,000/year (USD)
Canada:
Zone 1: $279,000 – $361,000/year (CAD)
