About the Role:
As the Senior Growth Designer at Octave, you will play an important role in creating well-designed, visually-impactful work that touches multiple channels and drives key growth metrics. This position requires a highly creative individual with impeccable attention to detail, strong project management skills, and a demonstrated understanding of design methodologies used to work cross functionally with peers in marketing, engineering, sales, and product organizations. The ideal candidate has the ability to lead projects from concept to completion, has extensive experience acting as a strong generalist across digital design, web design, advertising, print, art direction (and more), along with a portfolio demonstrating this diverse range of work.
Responsibilities Include:
- Brand Stewardship and Design Execution: Lead the development and evolution of the company’s visual brand identity across all channels, ensuring consistency and alignment with our overall brand strategy. Oversee visual elements of marketing campaigns, including digital ads, social media content, and print materials such as Out-Of-Home (OOH) advertising, sales materials, brochures, and direct mailers. Coordinate with internal teams + external agencies to deliver high-quality creative work on time and within budget, selecting stock photography and directing photo shoots to maintain a compelling visual style.
- Website and User Interface Design: Update website designs, build new components to enhance user experience, and drive conversions. Create intuitive, user-friendly interfaces for software products to ensure a positive, consistent experience across web and mobile platforms. Collaborate closely with developers to ensure high-quality execution and integration of design elements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing teams to create assets that support promotional efforts and enhance brand visibility. Partner with product managers, developers, and designers within the larger design organization to ensure brand uniformity, consistency, and alignment with business goals and technical requirements. Be highly articulate in communication and proactive in partnership.
- Management of Creative Resources: Oversee a team of contract creative designers, providing direction, feedback, and support to ensure high-quality outputs. Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet quality standards. Lead design reviews, in partnership with the Head of Design, and make necessary revisions based on feedback from stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance and Innovation: Have an impeccable eye for detail, adapting and refining designs based on user feedback, business needs, and technological advancements. Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies to keep the company at the forefront of design innovation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred 5+ years of professional design experience, ideally in startup or technology environments.
- Experience working on brands across B2C and B2B/Saas.
- Experience working on/with product design, UI/UX, visual design, and creative brand executions.
- Demonstrable experience successfully leading design projects from concept to completion.
- Experience in managing and communicating with internal stakeholders, peer designers, as well as external agency partners.
- Must be able to provide a portfolio of completed design projects and/or work samples.
- Expertise in brand development and visual design across digital and print media, with experience creating cohesive brand identities.
- Strong understanding of typographic principles, information hierarchy, layout, composition, and color theory.
- Thorough understanding of design best practices required for various channels such as email, social media, video, web, and mobile applications.
- Proficiency in UI/UX design, including the ability to craft intuitive interfaces and user experiences for web and mobile applications.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to articulate design concepts clearly and work effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing and development.
- A keen eye for detail, ensuring all design work is polished and aligns with brand standards, along with the ability to adapt designs based on feedback.
- Advanced skills in design software like Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and your animation tool(s) of choice with a strong understanding of current design trends and technologies.
- Nice to have: experience in healthcare, familiarity with HTML & CSS, and experience with design systems.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to frequently communicate with others through virtual meeting applications such as Zoom and Google Meet.
- Must be able to observe and communicate information on company provided laptop.
- Move up to 10 pounds on occasion.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Starting pay for qualified applicants will depend on a combination of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected salary range for this role is set forth below and this range may be modified in the future.
The salary range for this role is $132,100 – $164,000.
Additionally, this position is eligible for the following benefits: company sponsored life insurance, disability and AD&D plans. Voluntary benefits such as 401k retirement, medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, dependent care and commuter/parking options are also available. Octave offers generous Paid Time Off as well as paid parental leave benefits.
