About the Role
In this role, you will direct Aurora’s business development representative organization which supports our pipeline generation motion. You’ll lead 6 BDRs in addition to directing the strategy to create a meaningful engine alongside marketing and account teams for pipeline growth. In this strategic position, you’ll report directly to the Director of Sales and partner with product marketing, demand generation, and revenue operations to build a high-performing organization that meets our revenue and usage growth targets. The ideal candidate is a metrics-focused and entrepreneurial person who thrives in a start-up environment and enjoys defining sales strategy, crafting & optimizing sales organizations while mentoring and developing successful BDRs.
Your Impact
- Lead 6 BDRs across the U.S. and Europe
- Set the direction and vision for the BDR department at Aurora
- Hire, train, and lead the team by providing coaching, mentoring, and motivation
- Structure and improve existing operations to increase efficiency
- Partner with our sales enablement function to develop programs and onboarding structures that reduce ramp times and boost productivity
- Use your knowledge of Salesforce and Outreach to manage and track team performance metrics and the movement of leads through the demand funnel
- Provide proactive, metrics-based feedback to marketing on lead-generation campaigns and develop engaging prospect messaging tools for your team to use in the field
- Design meaningful career paths and skill-building programs to drive employee retention and successful promotion paths
- Build a successful framework for outbound prospecting into Aurora’s strategic customers and prospects
- Collaborate with RevOps to design effective BDR comp plans
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in business development or sales teams in the technology industry, with a proven track record of driving growth and achieving KPI targets
- 2+ years of experience managing business development personnel
- Strategic, systems-level thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate processes and drive efficiency
- Curiosity and genuine interest in the solar industry with a mission-focused mentality
- Desire to build a culture that’s aligned with Aurora Solar’s values
- Experience partnering with sales enablement to develop programs and onboarding structures
- Effectively convey metric-based feedback to marketing partners on lead-generation campaigns
- Strong understanding of Salesforce and Outreach, with proficiency in managing and tracking performance KPIs and demand funnel activities
- Ability to recruit, hire, and retain high-performing BDRs, with a focus on developing people and experience designing skill-building programs
