Job Description

PayPay Securities, as an important part of PayPay’s financial ecosystem, has launched “Point Management” with over 10 million users and “PayPay Asset Management, the first initiative in Japan that enables asset management on a payment application. Now that the business foundation of the financial ecosystem is finally in place, we intend to expand our business to change the structure of asset management in Japan, with the main target being those who have not yet started asset management or were not interested in it before.

To achieve our goal, PayPay Securities is preparing to bring in technical talents not only from Japan but also globally, just as we have done with PayPay’s product division. As a Performance Test Engineer , you will be collaborating with engineers, designers and QAs, and working in an environment where you can be one of the founding members to build up a new organization within PayPay Securities.

  • Design, maintain and enhance performance testing framework components
  • Develop a comprehensive performance testing strategy, including detailed Non-Functional Requirements (NFR). Translate the requirements into appropriate test scenarios
  • Collaborate with engineering and product management teams to define performance requirements for new feature releases
  • Design, script and execute load, stress, stability, and scalability testing and deliver comprehensive reports to the project team
  • Review all performance test activities, write tests, test execution, collect metrics, create and manage testing schedules, report results and problems, and maintain documentation
  • Review, analyze and document test results and metrics with recommendations to engineering leaders and  senior engineering managers of the engineering team
  • Analyze major changes introduced to our product, and assess potential performance impact to define the level of performance testing needed
  • Drive performance and load test operations towards a CI pipeline model to support continuous performance improvements
  • Gain a technical and functional understanding of our product architecture. Become part of the ongoing performance improvement of our product
  • Coach and assist other junior performance analysts with test strategies, technical issues with creating and executing performance tests, and test results analysis


  • 5 years or above of experience with performance test simulations, performance analysis, and performance monitoring
  • Experience in creating test data and automating test reports, using any programming language
  • Strong understanding of performance test methodologies
  • Experience with performance testing tool, such as JMeter, LoadRunner, and Gatling
  • Well versed in using Continuous Integration and Continuous Development tools, like Jenkins/Bitrise or any other
  • Strong data analysis and post processing skills to validate system performance
  • Experience in creating test strategy and test plans, and executing performance and load testing activities for large-scale, enterprise-class applications
  • Willing to work in a highly dynamic environment with tight deadlines and ever changing priorities
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills and documentation skills
  • Business level in either English or Japanese (Native Japanese speaker or JLPT N1 equivalent)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ISTQB or equivalent certificate. ISTQB (Specialist) Performance Testing is a plus
  • Experience in testing mobile applications (Android and iOS)
  • Experience in proposing and introducing new QA tools in the test process
  • Experience in working on development in securities, finance, or similar industries
  • Experience in in-house service operation
  • Experience in using Cloud Service (AWS, GCP or Azure etc)

Work Hours

  • Super Flex Time (No Core Time)
  • In principle, 9:00am-6:00pm (actual working hours: 8h + 1h break)

Paid leave

  • Annual paid leave (1 to 10 days depending on the month of joining will be granted upon employment date)
  • Summer break (2 days / generally taken between July 1st and September 30th / subject to change depending on month of employment)
  • Year-end and New Year holidays (12/31-1/3)
