Senior Software Engineer II, Frontend – Content Hub | HubSpot | $186k-$280k | Remote (USA)
Job Description
About the team
We’re looking for talented software engineers to work with us on building the next generation of HubSpot CMS.
Today, our SaaS CMS is used by 70,000+ sites, and we’re looking to significantly grow that – think 10x or more – over the next several years. We receive 3 billion requests a month for those CMS-hosted pages.
The HubSpot CMS has been built with marketers and content creators in mind – key features of the system include WYSIWYG in-context content editing, a module framework that enables developers to build tools non-technical marketers and content creators can use to create beautiful pages, and tight integration with the HubSpot CRM for personalization and reporting.
To 10x our growth, we want to build a system that’s as pleasant for CMS developers to use as it is for marketers and looks toward the future of web development, and we’re looking for developers with experience and opinions about building a fantastic CMS.
We also work on the Content Platform, the set of underlying technologies and concepts that power CMS Hub as well as other public content offerings that span the HubSpot product like Knowledge Base, Customer Portal, and a customizable Quotes tool. We’re investing in making it easier for other HubSpot teams to build products on the content platform.
We want folks who are excited about the answers to questions like: What does web development look like in 2024? How can we bring modern frameworks like React and server-side JavaScript rendering to developers used to working with WordPress and Drupal? What does a great design for a CMS look like? How can we combine design freedom for developers with WYSIWYG do-it-yourself functionality for marketers? How can we help content creators create well-performing web content? What is the easiest way to switch CMS platforms?
What we’re looking for
- A strong engineer interested in writing in JavaScript with 8+ years of experience
- Experience with React & Typescript
- An interest in working on a multifaceted product with considerations for developers, content creators, and website visitors
- A bias for ownership, a self-starter, and willingness to dive in & drive work forward
- An understanding of what makes a great website and everything that goes into it
- Excited to join a super-smart, driven, and humble team
- Bonus for experience building on top of and working on the core of open-source or enterprise CMSes
