Vert is searching for a highly organized, proactive SEO Specialist to support our growing Search Engine Optimization team. This person will support Vert’s functional teams, working to deliver best-in class SEO recommendations, audits, insights, and strategic implementation to drive business goals across a variety of client/industry verticals. This is a full-time position (salary + benefits) based in Atlanta, GA.

In this position, you’ll help to gather reporting and insights as well as develop strategies to help our clients to meet their business goals. You’ll work with internal and external teams to make sure deliverables are completed to drive results. On the SEO team, we make sure we are noticing trends and keeping up with the industry’s ever-changing updates, so our clients are ahead of any updates that need to be completed. Your primary responsibility will be to support the SEO team with project deliverables such as reporting, audits, insights, recommendations, and brainstorming strategies and advice.

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, detail-oriented, humble expert who loves Google, Bing, Amazon, and all search engines, and gets excited about presenting new ideas to clients, colleagues, and partners. You must be passionate about working and growing with a small, growing agency. You should also have a track record of expertise in the digital space, preferably with agency experience in SEO, Local SEO, or helping with all facets of digital marketing. In addition to relevant experience, you have an insatiable desire to learn and explore emerging trends in digital marketing & advertising, and are passionate about working and growing in a small, growing agency.

This person will be responsible for:

  • Compiling organic search reports for clients using ahrefs, Google Search Console, SEMRush, Google Data Studio, Bing Webmaster Tools, Yoast/RankMath, and Google Analytics
  • Utilizing tools for keyword research, reporting, technical audits, and local enhancements
  • Learning more about the SEO industry and developing trends in the search industry
  • Coordinating with SEO Manager to build comprehensive audits of websites, competitors, content, and technical updates that might be needed
  • Working with both internal and external teams to complete technical and content updates that might be needed for SEO deliverables
  • Communicating needed changes and updates for search optimization to both technical and non-technical teams
  • Providing strategic recommendations (content, technical, link strategies, & more) to improve the SEO friendliness of our clients’ websites
  • Researching and exploring keywords, entity associations, trends, insights, etc.
  • Reviewing, editing, optimizing and altering title tags and meta descriptions, website content optimizations, and structured data enhancements to ensure maximum search engine friendliness
  • Providing on-page SEO recommendations and completing these implementations on CMS platforms such as WordPress
  • Utilizing local SEO tools to make strategic recommendations and updates to our clients local listings
  • Managing local listings for enterprise clients either manually on local listings platforms or within an enterprise local listings management platform
  • Experience taking notes, proactively adding tasks, communicating next steps, and managing what’s top priority for client deliverables and expectations
  • Also helpful would be experience writing schema markup or structured data, as well as having an understanding of how these entities help a website to improve their rankings. This individual will be responsible for communicating this information to the client on both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience in these areas is a plus but not essential: implementing structured data,  fixing core web vitals issues, and Amazon Advertising

This person must have:

  • 2-3+ years of tangible digital marketing and SEO experience, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, provide excellent client service, project manage upcoming work, and work as a team player with agency teams as well as communicate clearly with our clients.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with digital reporting & analysis tools, SEO tools (Google Analytics, GA4, Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster, ahrefs, SEMRush, etc.), and other sites/platforms
  • Comfortable working within GA4 and GSC to gather data for organic search and draw conclusions for our clients from this data
  • Passionate about building relationships both internally and externally, as well as working with different disciplines across the agency (Account Strategy, Brand Strategy, Creative, Development, Analytics, and New Business)
  • Strong understanding of SEO, recent trends, and algorithm updates as well as keywords research, content, and technical SEO strategies
  • Experience completing SEO audits on overall site performance including but not limited to on-site performance, content strategy, backlinking analysis, technical audits, structural recommendations, and local enhancements
  • Excellent communication skills, with demonstrated ability to eloquently explain complex ideas in a few written words
  • Strong understanding of industry, recent trends, and algorithm updates as well as data and analytics behind digital marketing and drawing conclusions from this data
  • Experience or a strong desire to learn more about local SEO in order to optimize our clients’ local listings and drive visitors to their locations
  • Strong time management skills, as well as very organized, able to prioritize what’s the most important, naturally motivated, and self-directed
  • Knowledge of Google Sheets and Docs for active collaboration with client and internal Vert team

The salary range for this position is $44,500-58,000 per year.
