Job Description

About the Role

Our Network teams have a maniacal focus on delivering world class network infrastructure by way of top notch automation on top of modern architectural and design concepts.   Our goal is to build the most resilient, high performance network fabrics possible to accelerate our unique, and bleeding edge AI, ML, and VFX workloads for our customers, but also have fun doing it!

Your Role and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the Architecture, Design, and implementation of the CoreWeave Global Backbone & Edge Network.   You will work closely with your global team of Engineers to scale the Backbone & Edge networks to meet the demands of our Datacenter builds, and our ever growing and extensive product portfolio.

As the Sr. Manager of Global Backbone Network Engineer and purveyor of fine packets, you will be a critical part of a small team of highly motivated, and incredibly talented network engineers. Your day to day will include deploying new POP locations for our critical Backbone, as well as deploying datacenter fabrics at large scale.  And why stop there?  You’ll also be operationalizing the backbone you’ve helped Architect & Design, along with the DC Fabric. Finally, you’ll be learning new skills, leveraging automation frameworks developed by our NetDev’s to achieve the impossible…okay, you’ll achieve the really really hard for sure!   But most importantly, you’ll be part of a super dynamic team with amazing skill sets, attitudes, and outlooks, within a company behind an industry movement that the general IaaS and Cloud industry hasn’t seen the likes of, since the early days of hyperscale cloud.

You should have at least 10+ years of….

  • A great attitude, without an ego, and a drive to solve complex problems to meet delivery goals of the business.
  • An attitude of “I refuse to be the blocker”
  • Extensive work with one or more Vendors – Mellanox, Juniper, Nokia, Arista, etc…
  • Experience with Backbone routing protocols – BGP, SR-MPLS, ISIS, VXLAN, EVPN
  • Python  & Shell Scripting – be a lazy engineer.  Write code to do less
  • Basic understanding in working with a source of truth (Netbox, Nautobot etc..)
  • Working with Carriers and have a deep understanding of contract management for global circuit capacity
  • Managing at-scale projects and deployments of Backbone & Edge infrastructure
  • Managing and maintaining a team in a fast paced environment where the focus is on delivery and execution
  • Working cross functionally with Product Teams to understand business needs and requirements to help scale the business.
  • Being up on trends with technology to help drive and influence the critical edge & backbone over time.

  • 5+ years experience directly or indirectly helping deploy & manage network infrastructure
  • Time working in Automation frameworks, and understanding how to effectively scale the backbone within a framework
