Job Description:

This position requires a US Department of Defense or Intelligence TS/SCI clearance.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Solution Engineer with extensive experience leading deployments of highly dynamic products into secured computing environments. In this role you will provide technical leadership across multiple deployments for the Yurts Generative AI product for US Department of Defense and intelligence customers. There, you’ll leverage DevOps tooling (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, GitOps tools, etc.) and your experience meeting requirements of and US Federal Government Risk Management Frameworks to drive environment-agnostic deployments that can scale. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in owning similar deployments end-to-end, both through direct hands-on involvement and leading a technical team. You will also be the face of Yurts for customer and partner technical teams, achieving alignment and buy-in on technical approaches and mitigating risk. Alongside deployment, you will own application tuning and customization to meet customer requirements, including developing custom data integrations, building new functionality into the Yurts platform, and more. You will work closely with other Federal Delivery Engineers and the Yurts Platform teams to improve product deployment efficiency and configurability.

Responsibilities:

• Lead deployment of the Yurts product in US government compute environments using Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes/Docker, and related technologies.
• Architect, implement, and maintain an installer for deploying our software across multiple customer environments.
• Develop automation scripts for provisioning, monitoring, backing up, patching and deploying the Yurts product and underlying services.
• Prepare packages required for application security Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M), Authorization to Operate (ATO), Certification to Field (CTF), and other security requirements presented by US Government Risk Management Frameworks (RMF).
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities for deployed applications.
• Collaborate with product DevOps Engineers to establish best practices and company-wide guidelines.
• Work closely with product software engineering teams to integrate their project deliverables into customer production cloud and on-premises environments.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues and work with customer, partner, and internal development teams to identify root causes and resolve them.
• Stay current with new technologies and recommend innovative solutions that increase value and improve efficiency.
• Enforce compliance with security best practices and policies.
• Participate in the creation of the company’s strategic IT roadmap.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer locations, company events, and conferences.

Qualifications:

• An active US Department of Defense or Intelligence TS/SCI clearance (no polygraph required).
• A BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification.
• 8+ years of experience as a Solution Engineer with DevOps experience, or equivalent software-engineering role.
• Extensive experience leading application deployments to AWS, Azure, and/or Oracle Cloud environments, as well as on-premises data centers.
• Experience delivering software to multiple environments using Ansible or similar automation and configuration management technologies.
• Experience building deployment systems for rapidly developing and changing applications.
• Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, especially Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, etc, and a willingness to learn and adopt new ones.
• Experience deploying rapidly evolving software and maintaining a flexible deployment paradigm to enable rapid iteration.
• Experience deploying commercial software products into government customer environments.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, partner vendors, end users, and cross-functional teams.
• Experience writing and leveraging infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar).
• Experience with databases, both SQL and NoSQL, and related data structures.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (i.e Bash, Python).

Preferred Qualifications:

• An MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience with containerization and deployment of Machine Learning models.
• Experience in startup environments.

Compensation Information

$180,000—$220,000 USD
