Your needs are as unique as you are. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement. As a minimum we’re all expected to attend the workplace for collaboration and other specific reasons, a minimum of three days per week.
What you will be doing:
Strategic Analyst is essential to enhance our analytical capabilities, particularly in understanding and respond to geo-political dynamics analysis for performing critical strategic analyses across multiple markets for Group Strategy.
Provide in-depth analysis and insights that are essential for marking informed strategic decision, helping the organisation to navigate complex topics that are deemed of Strategic importance.
Engage in industry, customer, competitor, partner and/or supplier research to provide appropriate analysis and insight
Develop models and with key deliverable, such as benchmarking and country strategies
Use strategy development tools to solve complex business problems
Manage a library of data sources and analyses supporting strategic awareness, issue resolution and decision making
Develop executive management quality presentations in support of company decision-making processes
Proactively identify, evaluate and communicate potential business opportunities and threat
Support development of formal recommendations to senior levels of company leadership
Lead or support development of business development opportunities
Monitor progress against strategic goals
Who we’re looking for:
- Educated to a degree level in scientific, economics, business or analytical field
- Experience of working in professional services (e.g management consultancy or up and down the value chain) or industrial company desirable
- Experience of basic strategy tools e.g. PESTEL, Porter’s five forces
- Experience of working with senior management (including C suite) and ability to influence without authority
- Ability to perform comprehensive strategic analysis across multiple markets
- Ability to effectively work in collaborative cross functional and internal / external teams to achieve goals
- Ability to be bold and constructively challenge management and orthodoxies where appropriate
- Good financial and business acumen, understanding of company financial statements. Ability to build simple financial models will
- Expert use of Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, simple macros), experience of PowerBI /other data visualisation tools
- Understanding of one or several of our core markets (power systems, aerospace, defence) and potential new markets
