Talent Specialist – Full-time

BELAY is a growing and vibrant, Atlanta, GA-based company that offers virtual staffing solutions in the areas of Virtual Assistants, Virtual Bookkeepers, Website Specialists, and Social Media Managers. Job Purpose

The focus of this role is to source, recruit, and advance exceptional contractors through the interview and placement process to carry out BELAY’s mission and vision. The Talent Specialist is a trusted partner to our Client Relations Department. Talent Specialists support our CSCs as needed by identifying and recommending contractors who match our client’s required skill set and temperament to be placed on engagements. The Talent Specialist serves as the Director of First Impressions for our applicants and is an energetic, perceptive, people-person committed to identifying top talent and protecting our unique culture. This team member is collaborative and confident with a gift of discernment. They thrive in a fast-paced environment and are driven to meet tight deadlines with excellence. Seeking a candidate with a passion for finance and/or accounting background who can become a subject matter expert for sourcing, recruiting, hiring, and placing accounting service professionals. Finance, accounting, and/or bookkeeping experience is preferred.

Duties and responsibilities

Contractor Investment

  • Ensure BELAY applicants and contractors have a positive experience throughout the lifecycle of their journey. Leverage clear communication and expectation setting via our communication channels. Be the voice of Talent.
  • Oversee hired talent during the onboarding and placement process
  • Promote BELAY culture to our Contractors

Recruiting, Placement, and Quality Control

  • Source and attract candidates by leveraging recruiting tactics such as job boards, job fairs, social media, staffing partnerships, current contractors (referrals), and beyond
  • Own the recruiting process in a way that allows you to exceed company metrics related to the number of expected interviews and advancements to skills assessments and post-skills assessment interviews each month. Must be able to self-direct and flex based on placement needs and sales pipeline trends
  • Screen and interview potential candidates based on BELAY’s qualifications, advancing only those who exhibit the high-caliber criteria we expect from our contractors. As the front line to our contractor team, hold the line on letting only top-tier performers through, while keeping culture top of mind
  • Follow the recruiting process to ensure the utmost responsive and professional communication with candidates, stellar video interview execution, and appropriately detailed documentation of interview notes.
  • Respond to candidate inquiries (calls and emails) swiftly and with care, ensuring the candidate experience is positive throughout the entire process
  • Regularly audit and update the contractor roster to ensure current availability and maintain high service quality standards, terminating contracts as needed.
  • Search for and recommend top contractor choices to our Client Success Consultants or BELAY Financial Team, as needed, finding and advocating for contractors with the required skill set, temperament, availability, etc. to meet the needs of the engagement.

Operational Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback and recommendations to members of the Talent team as needed regarding candidates, trends, extension of contracts, placement, and termination of contractors
  • Act as a pivotal liaison with the Talent Ops Coordinator to optimize accounting services application forms, assessments, requirements, and qualifications, ensuring precise alignment to attract, onboard, and place top-tier talent effectively
  • Provide weekly and/or monthly metrics to the Talent Manager
  • Attend team, company, and 1:1 meetings as scheduled, including video calls and in-person meetings
  • Effectively utilize all corporate systems (Salesforce, ATS, scheduling tools, etc.)
  • Make recommendations on process and system improvements
  • Collaborate closely with Accounting Services team, as well as other cross-departmental team(s) as needed
  • Serve as backup for TA team members who are out of the office

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience interviewing and placing candidates as well as sourcing and creating a talent pipeline preferred
  • Experience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping preferred
  • Must be a driven self-starter, a positive thinker, loyal and trustworthy
  • Attributes of flexibility, creativity, self-discipline, strong organizational skills, and action-orientation are essential for this role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative team member willing and capable of diving in and taking initiative to complete projects or innovate in new or ambiguous scenarios
  • A high degree of autonomy with the capability of working remotely.

Working conditions

BELAY Corporate, as a virtual company, offers you the ability to work from home full-time. As such, a dedicated and secure workspace, free of distractions is required. Our standard business hours are Monday-Friday. Some roles will require travel.
