Job Description

A European IT company, which has been building software products of any level of complexity for over 15 years, is looking for a Team Lead/ Senior Developer with extensive experience in Snowflake.

As a Team Lead/Senior Developer, you will be responsible for the development and optimization of Snowflake data warehouses. This role requires extensive experience in data engineering, data architecture, and cloud data platforms with a focus on Snowflake. You will lead a team of developers and collaborate with data analysts and stakeholders to build effective data pipelines, ensuring data is structured to support both reporting and advanced analytics.

The company is headquartered in Ljubljana, Slovenia. There are also offices in Bulgaria. You are offered fully remote collaboration with the ability to work from anywhere in the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable and reliable Snowflake data warehouse solutions
  • Manage ETL/ELT processes, ensuring efficient data pipelines and performance optimization in Snowflake
  • Collaborate with data teams and stakeholders to align data architecture with business and analytical needs
  • Implement data security, governance policies, and enforce best practices in data modeling and SQL development
  • Mentor data engineers and work with DevOps teams to ensure smooth cloud deployment and operations

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake development, with a strong understanding of its architecture and features

  • Expertise in SQL and performance tuning within Snowflake

  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools and Python language

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

  • Experience leading and mentoring technical teams

  • English B2+

Will be a plus

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Experience with other data warehousing technologies (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks)
