Job Summary:
The Arizona Department of Administration (ADOA), Benefits Services Division, is seeking a skilled Technical Analyst to play a vital role in supporting and enhancing our benefits systems and processes. As the bridge between various stakeholders, including Member Services, Plan Administration, HRIS, retirement systems, state agencies, vendors, and system users, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation and optimal functionality of our benefits programs.

Across our many agencies, boards, and commissions, many State employees participate in the State’s Remote Work Program and are able to work remotely in their homes, in offices, and in hoteling spaces. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.
Job Duties:
- Supports the organization’s key business processes and applications
- Uses research and functional expertise of benefits systems and processes to conduct analysis, identify root cause of problems and resolve issues
- Serves as a liaison between internal and external customers and stakeholders
- Prepares and maintains documentation, standard work and end user training materials
- Provides end user support and assistance in using the benefits system and performs centralized transactions
- Other duties as assigned related to the position
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Knowledge of:
- Principles and concepts of benefits, eligibility, and systems
- HRIS systems and related benefits modules at the subject matter expert level
- Research and problem solving
- Data analysis and report generation methods
- Laws, regulations, statutes and trends in the area of assignment; compliance with rules and regulations
Skilled in:
- Translating technical concerns into layman’s terms
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Effective oral and written communication
- Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and setting priorities
- Extracting data, preparing data and reports; reviewing data and resolving errors or issues
- Effectively perform benefit premium audits
- Advanced mathematics.

Ability to:
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Handle inquiries in a professional, effective and efficient manner
- Evaluate and improve processes
- Work independently with minimal supervision
Selective Preference(s):
- Prior experience working with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), knowledge of eligibility rules, policies, procedures, and/or understanding of various types of employee benefits.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
