The Value Solutions team is the deal-level system integrator responsible for developing winning application solutions that can be applied in opportunities globally as part of the ITR process.

L’Ingénieur(e) Solutions Value assure un soutien fonctionnel sur l’ensemble des pôles régionaux, afin de garantir la cohérence des processus pour les propositions Nouvelles unités sur le segment des turbines à gaz industrielles. Le/La titulaire du poste travaillera avec les responsables Solutions Value régionaux et les équipes ITR afin de développer des stratégies optimales pour les turbines à gaz et les centrales à cycle combiné, qui maximisent la valeur pour le client avec une approche équilibrée des risques.

The Value Solutions Engineer will provide functional support across the regional poles to drive consistent processes for New Unit Heavy Duty gas turbine proposals. This position will work with the regional Value Solution Leaders and ITR teams to develop optimum gas turbine & combined cycle life cycle strategies that maximize customer value with a risk-balanced approach.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and develop optimized technical solutions (configuration, performance estimation, economics, etc.) as part of the pre-ITO process while interfacing with Regional Customer Application Engineering, Sales & Commercial, Product Line, Engineering, Services, and Supply Chain.
  • Possess a deep understanding of relevant markets and customer economic value that aid winning bid strategies.
  • Works with Systems Engineering and Product Management to expand product application space, drive standardization of products and processes, and / or mitigate risks from deviations due to transactional needs.
  • Integrates across AE functions and regional poles to ensure high quality technical proposals.
  • Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Supports operational excellence initiatives to drive consistency in the application of solutions across regions. Develop and promote standard work and best practices with lean mindset to improve products, processes, or services.
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and / or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Advanced Power Generation engineering experience

Desired Characteristics

  • Preference will be given to current Gas Power Engineering employees
  • Master’s Degree in engineering or technical discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Gas turbine, steam turbine product line knowledge; plant systems level knowledge
  • Performance & Life Cycle Value Analysis experience
  • Technical competency in gas turbine, steam turbine and/or combined cycle steady state modeling and associated tools (GTP, Ebsilon, ALPRO, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities across different times zones with high degree of autonomy
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects

  • Assure l’intégration au niveau de tous les services AE et des pôles régionaux pour garantir des propositions de haute qualité
  • Connaître les bonnes pratiques et savoir dans quelle mesure son propre domaine d’activité s’intègre à celui des autres ; connaître les concurrents et les facteurs qui les différencient sur le marché
  • Soutenir les initiatives d’excellence opérationnelle pour favoriser la cohérence dans l’application des solutions dans toutes les régions ; développer et promouvoir des standards de travail et des bonnes pratiques avec un état d’esprit Lean pour améliorer les produits, les processus ou les services
  • Faire preuve d’un certain jugement et proposer des solutions différentes afin de gérer des processus de production plus complexes présentant une certaine diversité technique et/ou des cycles de production interdépendants ; mettre à profit son expérience technique et son esprit d’analyse ; utiliser de multiples ressources internes et quelques ressources externes en dehors de ses propres équipes pour faciliter la prise de décision
  • intervenir en tant qu’expert(e) auprès de ses collègues moins expérimentés ; diriger de petits projets impliquant de faibles risques et des exigences modérées en termes de ressources ; communiquer les informations ; développer des compétences pour amener les membres de l’équipe à un consensus autour de sujets connexes. transmettre les attentes en matière de performances et éventuellement traiter des questions sensibles

Qualifications/Exigences

  • BAC+3 en ingénierie dans une université ou un établissement d’enseignement supérieur agréé(e), ou connaissances/expériences équivalentes
  • Solide expérience dans l’ingénierie, dans le domaine de la production d’électricité

Qualifications souhaitées

  • La préférence sera donnée aux salariés actuels de Gas Power Engineering
  • BAC+4 en ingénierie ou dans un domaine technique connexe, ou connaissances/expériences équivalentes
  • Connaissance des gammes de produits dans le domaine des turbines à gaz et des turbines à vapeur ; connaissance des systèmes qui composent une centrale
  • Expérience de l’analyse des performances et de la valeur du cycle de vie
  • Compétences techniques en modélisation en régime stable des turbines à gaz, des turbines à vapeur et/ou des centrales à cycle combinés et des outils associés (GTP, Ebsilon, ALPRO, etc.)
  • Capacité à gérer plusieurs opportunités dans différents fuseaux horaires avec un haut degré d’autonomie
  • Excellentes compétences de communication tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit
  • Excellentes qualités relationnelles et compétences d’encadrement
  • Capacité avérée à analyser et à résoudre les problèmes
  • Capacité avérée à diriger des programmes/projets

For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $98,400.00 – 164,000.00 USD Annual**.**

The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus.

*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
