Non-EU nationals should have the equivalent funds of US$50 per person per day for their stay in the Slovak Republic.
Slovakia Work Permit
According to current law, foreign citizens who intend to work in Slovakia must acquire a Slovakia work permit. It is issued on the condition that the person has a residence permit and that no Slovak citizen could be employed in the post.
EU citizens must apply for a residence permit at their local police station within three months of entry and provide proof of employment or income.
Slovakia only issues work permits to highly qualified personnel, executives, researchers, trainees and workers in fields where there is a labour shortage in Slovakia.
Normally, the foreign worker will receive a Slovakia work permit valid only for one employer and for one year. Such a permit needs renewing each year.
