All nationals except EU nationals holding a valid national ID card require a passport valid for at least three months beyond the length of stay. Some EU nationals may be required to present a valid passport in addition to a national ID card.
Spain Work Permit
The EEA citizens are free to move and work wherever they want to, within Spain and other EEA member countries.
Non-EEA workers who are legally employed in one member state and temporarily working on contract in another member state do not require a work permit for the duration of the contract.
All documents, letters, medical reports, photographs and forms required for Work Permits and/or Residence Visas must be submitted in Spain. Submitted documents can be dated no more than 60 days prior to the application submission date.
You must apply for a residence permit. This is valid for five years and should be issued within six months of your arrival.
Receiving a Spain work permit for foreigners, those who are not EEA citizens is much more difficult. Other non-EEA job seekers must find an employer willing to apply for a Spain work permit and working visa to the immigration authorities on their behalf well in advance of the job’s starting date, while they are still in their home country. Technically, you are not allowed to enter Spain· to look for work.
Most employers, who are subject to heavy fines if they hire illegally, will not offer a job to a foreigner who does not possess a valid Spain work permit.
When you are in Spain, the most effective method of finding a job is to walk in and ask. However, temporary jobs like fruit picking and any work “on black” will never qualify you for a work permit. Furthermore, such unofficial employment can quite often lead to exploitative working conditions. If you are caught, you can be hit with hefty fines or even barred from the country.
