Equipment Engineer Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Studies equipment performance reliability and maintains equipment
- Drive cost of ownership to optimized performance
- Oversees the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment
- Responsible for evaluating, selecting, and ordering equipment that is most appropriate and cost effective for the manufacture of company products
- Keeps current on equipment manufacturers' technical notices, upgrades and safety issues
- Work with equipment vendors to sustain and enhance equipment performance from a tool standpoint
- Use data to make intelligent improvements to overall equipment performance
- Compiles and evaluates data to determine appropriate limits and variables for equipment specifications
- Provides technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations
- Provide technical support to indirect technicians, and technical support to operations team through definition of operation specifications and training aids
- Establishes action plans, programs, and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process
- Defines and writes preventative maintenance schedules
- Project management that results in the timely execution of continuous improvement actions that resolve issues impacting fab performance metrics
- Support teams in addressing fab projects such as safety, quality, equipment availability or efficiency
- Provide progress reports on tools, processes, and goals
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Physics or related engineering degree
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience working in a Semiconductor manufacturing environment as an Equipment Engineer in Ion Implantation
- Equipment experience with Axcelis GSD, Varian E220/E500 , AMAT Viista
- Prior experience with Ion Implantation, high vacuum and/or ultra high vacuum
- Equipment experience on other equipment (e.g., AMAT, Axcelis, Varian)
- Experience on tool monitoring and interdiction software, and equipment maintenance and documentation
- Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing, and SPC techniques. Experienced with semiconductor cleanroom protocol and behaviors
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
- Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
- Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
- Ability to work effectively in an interrupt-driven, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to build strong, influential relationship
