The HR Manager at our food manufacturing facility is responsible for overseeing all human resource functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance with labor laws, training, compensation, benefits, and safety. The role involves collaborating with management to align HR strategies with business objectives, ensuring a high-performing, engaged workforce that adheres to the company’s values and regulations within the food manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities

- →Manage the full recruitment process from sourcing to hiring for various positions within the facility.
- →Post job ads, conduct interviews, and facilitate onboarding for new employees.
- →Collaborate with department heads to forecast staffing needs and ensure workforce availability.
Employee Relations:
- →Act as a liaison between management and employees, resolving conflicts, grievances, and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- →Foster a positive work environment through effective communication, employee engagement initiatives, and maintaining company culture.
- →Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures.
Training and Development:
- →Develop and implement training programs, including new employee orientation, job-specific training, safety protocols, and compliance with food safety regulations.
- →Identify opportunities for continuous professional development to enhance employee skills and performance.
- →Monitor the effectiveness of training programs and adjust as necessary.
Compliance and Legal:
- →Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, including health and safety regulations specific to food manufacturing.
- →Keep current on changes in employment laws and advise management on potential impacts.
- →Participate in audits and regulatory inspections for compliance with OSHA, FDA, and other regulatory bodies.
Compensation and Benefits:
- →Oversee employee compensation programs, including wage and salary administration.
- →Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, etc.), ensuring proper communication and understanding for all employees.
- →Support management in creating competitive compensation packages that align with industry standards and company budgets.
Performance Management:
- →Implement and manage performance appraisal systems.
- →Provide guidance to managers on addressing performance issues, coaching, and providing feedback.
- →Monitor and ensure consistent and effective performance management practices across all levels.
Health and Safety:
- →Work with the safety team to ensure that the workplace complies with all safety regulations and standards.
- →Promote safety awareness and ensure employees are properly trained in workplace safety procedures.
- →Investigate accidents and work-related injuries, ensuring timely reporting and corrective actions.
HR Strategy and Planning:
- →Collaborate with senior management to align HR practices with business goals and operational needs.
- →Provide leadership in employee engagement, retention strategies, and workforce planning.
- →Manage HR metrics and provide reporting to senior leadership on key workforce data.
