As an Intern Business Process with Audit Readiness focus in Timisoara, Romania you will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to powering the world’s payments ecosystem!
Responsibilities as an Intern Business Process and Audit:
Support the Business Unit Operations team in documenting and analyzing business processes across departments with focus on Audit Readiness Team (ART) in planning and executing audit readiness reviews, audit reviews, and retest support activities.
Assist in identifying inefficiencies and proposing basic improvements to enhance operational effectiveness of processes and gathering, organizing, and validating audit materials, aligned controls, evidences, and supporting documentation for audit readiness activities
Participate in stakeholder interviews and workshops to gather process requirements and in walkthroughs, review meetings, and interviews with audit item owners and subject matter experts to understand processes, controls, and readiness gaps.
Help prepare process maps, flowcharts, and documentation using standard tools. Help prepare audit deliverables and summary materials, including documentation that supports ART’s structured readiness process and core deliverables.
Contribute to internal efficiency initiatives by collecting data and supporting metric development.
Contribute to maintaining audit documentation, status reporting, and audit heatmaps used to monitor progress and readiness across active audit items.
Collaborate closely with senior analysts to learn audit readiness methodologies, procedures, and best practices.
Support the development of training materials and communication plans to drive process awareness and adoption.
Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions related to process improvement, audit readiness, evidence quality, remediation progress, and continuous improvement opportunities.
Assist with evaluating IT Operations and governance processes for gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
Support process optimization efforts through data collection and analysis.
Assist in documenting key operational processes such as onboarding and exception management.
Contribute to the development of process-related training and communication materials.
Help track adoption and compliance metrics for newly implemented processes.
Assist Audit Readiness Team with execution of the 90/60/30-day phased audit readiness approach by supporting collection, review, consultation, and creation activities.
Support the preparation and maintenance of audit readiness documentation, evidence files, status trackers, and summary reports.
Help track remediation plans and retest readiness for audit issues requiring follow-up and closure support.
Participate in cross-functional meetings to observe and learn about process improvement strategies and support audit preparation, walkthrough reviews, and issue follow-up activities.
Contribute to action tracking, and other readiness reporting used by the team to monitor progress.
Engage in learning opportunities to build foundational knowledge in business process analysis and audit readiness, governance, risk, and internal control processes.
Understand and adhere to all Corporate Policies including but not limited to ACI Code of Ethics and Global Information Security.
Knowledge and Expertise:
Basic understanding of business process analysis & improvement methodologies, audit readiness, internal controls, governance, risk management, or compliance concepts.
Familiarity with documentation, evidence collection, process walkthroughs, or control validation is a plus.
Exposure to financial services, technology operations, cybersecurity, or internal audit practices is beneficial.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Compliance or audit familiarity

Minimum Requirements Needed:
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in information systems, Information Security, Internal Audit, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
Strong interest in business operations & process improvement, audit readiness & governance, risk management, compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
