Assistant Analyst, Retirement Services

Building Services 32BJ Benefit Funds (“the Funds”) is the umbrella organization responsible for administering Health, Pension, Retirement Savings, Training, and Legal Services benefits to over 185,000 SEIU 32BJ members. 1. →Calculate pension benefits for new retirees and estimated projected benefits for future retirees.

1. →Analyze and process pension applications for completeness and accuracy; draft follow-up correspondence as needed.

1. →Perform banking transactions, including but not limited to pension check stop/reissues and voids.

1. →Work with third party vendors to collect data on deceased pensioners, update system accordingly with findings, and process bank reclaims for overpaid benefits.

1. →Track pension overpayments on a plan-by-plan basis and enforce overpayment recoupment policies.

1. →Reinstate suspended pensioner accounts after validating documentation as per plan rules.

1. →Validate work history and prior service records to calculate pension service credits.

1. →Perform data entry.

1. →Complete standardized written member communications.

1. →Assist Retirement Analysts and CARE Counselors as needed with administrative and analytical pension calculations.

1. →Special projects as assigned by management.

College graduate with Accounting or Math related degree or equivalent work experience.
