- In order for schools to operate effectively, employees are expected to perform all assigned duties and work all scheduled hours during each designated workday, unless the employee has received approved leave
- Any deviation from assigned hours must have prior approval from the employee's supervisor or building administrator
- All employees are required to report to work dressed in a manner that reflects a positive image of USD 259 and is appropriate for their position
- Ability to perform all tasks and work the hours required.
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
- Ability to wear proper safety equipment as required while performing the various responsibilities required for this position.
- Additional demands upon request of Supervisor.
- Attendance at required meetings and in-services.
- Daily schedule may fluctuate to accommodate deadlines and delivery of services.
- Exposure to chemicals, solvents and contaminated trash, grasses, pollens, etc.
- Frequent lifting 20 to 50 pounds; occasional lifting 50-100 pounds; lifting over 100 pounds with assistance.
- Work in high places on ladders and/or lifts.
- Work in standard office and school building environments.
- Work in wet and dusty conditions.
- Working overtime on short notice is mandatory.

- Use good judgment to make decisions on recurring assignments.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Follow instructions for assembling furniture.
- Contact with personnel within the district and with customers and vendors.
- Will work under the direct supervision of the department supervisor in order to complete day to day tasks.
- Will work with a diverse population requiring the ability to handle all situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Must exhibit a professional manner and maintain a positive attitude with all customers and colleagues.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- → Accept the responsibility for assisting with the training, skill development and supervision of other team members.
- → Assist in maintaining good public relations, being cognizant that a Crewperson 3 represents both the Facilities Division and the Wichita Public Schools.
- → Cooperate with other employees and maintain good public relations inside and outside his/her assignment.
- → Display willingness to be trained in all phases of the assignment and to increase his/her skills, thus, qualifying for advancement.
- → Possess a work ethic that is strongly oriented toward both efficiency and customer service.
- →Maintain appropriate licenses and certifications including a valid Kansas driver's license at all times throughout employment.
- → Possess superior knowledge of procedures, material and equipment utilized in the designated area while displaying good workmanship, planning, and leadership.
- → Support the organizational goals, the mission of the School Service Center and the district.
- → Work cooperatively with others and assist in maintaining open lines of communication.
- → Work directly or indirectly under the Supervisor.
- →Assist in hauling, delivering, setting up and tearing down furniture, stages, risers and other program equipment and items as needed.
- →Ability to drive large box trucks and assemble furniture.
- →Perform snow removal operations as required
