The Communications Specialist develops and coordinates clear, timely, and consistent internal communications that keep associates informed and reinforce organizational priorities. This role manages content and publishing activities across email, intranet, digital signage, and other internal communication channels. The position partners with stakeholders to strengthen message consistency, associate awareness, and the overall employee communication experience.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Manages day-to-day publishing across internal communication channels, including intranet, email, digital signage, and related platforms.
- →Coordinates editorial calendars, content intake, approvals, and publishing schedules to support enterprise communication priorities.
- →Drafts, edits, and proofreads associate-facing communications to ensure clarity, consistency, accuracy, and appropriate tone.
- →Develops engaging internal content that improves associate awareness and reinforces organizational priorities.
- →Supports urgent and time-sensitive communications by coordinating approved messaging across business lines and communication channels.
- →Partners with Communications leaders, content owners, and business stakeholders to ensure messaging is aligned, consistent, and delivered effectively.
- →Tracks communication performance and engagement metrics across internal channels.
- →Prepares recurring reports and insights that help communication leaders evaluate content effectiveness and audience engagement.
- →Identifies opportunities to improve communication processes, channel performance, content quality, and the overall associate communication experience.
- Proficiency with content management systems, intranet platforms, email communication tools, digital signage platforms, Microsoft 365, and related communication technologies.
- Ability to analyze communication channel metrics, identify performance trends, and translate engagement data into practical insights.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate internal communications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage content intake, publishing timelines, and multiple communication requests with accuracy and follow-through.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential, sensitive, or time-sensitive information.
- Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to review content for accuracy, consistency, completeness, and readiness for publication.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with communications partners, content owners, and business stakeholders to support consistent and effective employee communications.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in internal communications, employee communications, content publishing, corporate communications, or a related communications function.
- Experience supporting intranet, email, content management systems, digital signage, or similar internal communication platforms preferred.
This position is also eligible for participation in AAA, Inc.'s Associates Incentive Plan.
