$38.20 - $57.30

  • Full-Time, 40 hours/week
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
  • Location: Lexington Medical Center

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Biological, Chemical or Physical Sciences.
  • Three years' experience in a Clinical Lab preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

  • Medical Technologist (ASCP) or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Assists in the technical operations of the laboratory section.
  • Assists in the efficient and effective supervision of the laboratory section.
  • Assists in providing timely responses to management directives according to departmental practice.
  • Assists in assuring maximum care in safety and identification procedures involving patients, samples and laboratory working conditions.
  • Assists in providing practical clinical training to lab personnel and students. Exhibits and promotes the professional image of laboratories in accordance with hospital, department, and professional society philosophies, goals and standards of laboratory testing.

  • Exposure to infection from disease-bearing specimens or patients.
  • Exposure to risk of bloodborne/airborne diseases.
  • Exposure to hazards for electrical/mechanical/power equipment.
  • Possible exposure to odorous chemicals and specimens.
  • Possible exposure to toxic/flammable/explosive chemicals and gases.
  • Subject to injury from moving parts of equipment.
  • Moderate noise environment.
  • Subject to injury from sharps.
  • May require judgement/action which could result in death of patient.
  • Subject to many interruptions and stressful situations.
  • Occasionally subjected to irregular hours.
  • Must wear protective equipment (gloves, gowns/lab coats/eye protection/face protection).
