The Kernersville Outpatient Physical Therapy department at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a full time Senior Physical and Occupational Therapy technician to join the team. Qualified applicants must possess a strong attention to detail, excellent team and patient communication skills, flexibility, organization and time management skills. Candidates must be able to work in a fast paced outpatient rehabilitation environment. This role is responsible for schedule management for the therapy team, various administrative tasks, as well as hands-on patient care. EPIC experience and scheduling experience are preferred but not required.

Educational Assistance Program
  • High school diploma required.
  • Two years college with classes in anatomy, exercise physiology, or health and sports science preferred.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and CPR for Healthcare Professionals, Level C required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists professional staff with Physical, Occupational, Speech, or Recreational Therapy treatments and/or completion of paperwork.

  • Supervises patient exercise program in Physical and Occupational Therapy under the direct guidance of a therapist or an assistant.

  • Prepares modalities for the Physical and Occupational Therapy licensed staff.

  • Transports patients and equipment

  • Monitors equipment for cleanliness and operation per regulatory guidelines.

  • Reinforces patient and family education as instructed by the licensed therapy staff.

  • Copies, stocks, and inventories therapy forms and supplies.

  • Assists with orienting new and rotating staff.

  • Provides cross-coverage as needed throughout Advocate Health facilities.
