Extruder Operator Assistant

Position: Extruder Assistant Operator

Industry role: Plastic products machine operator

Reports to: Primary Operator (Machinist I.)

Has no direct subordinates

Follow company procedures and regulations

Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time

Detect, report, and document errors or problems promptly

Receive and inspect incoming materials

Remove contaminated packaging before materials enter production

Transport materials using a pallet jack

Measure and prepare:

• Raw materials

• Additives

• Masterbatches

Mix materials manually or with a mixer when required

Fill and refill storage containers

Label prepared materials correctly

Prepare paper cores:

• Cut to size

• Clean with alcohol wipes

• Install on machine shafts

Package and move leftover materials to warehouse transfer area

Assist the primary operator during machine setup and startup

Take production samples for inspection

Package finished rolls in PE film

Attach printed labels after weighing

Place rolls onto pallets

Prepare finished pallets by:

• Stretch wrapping

• Applying tracking sheets

• Adding protective coverings if needed

Move completed pallets to handover area for warehouse pickup

Perform regular product sampling:

• Every roll if roll weight exceeds 150 kg

• Every 3 hours for smaller rolls

Report any quality issues or machine abnormalities immediately

Collect empty bags and production scrap continuously

Weigh production waste and setup scrap

Sort and place waste into proper containers or BIG bags

Clean machines before hygiene-sensitive production

Document cleaning activities

Keep work area clean throughout the shift

Collect and dispose of trash around machines

Product and waste quantities

Product samples

Quality or machine issues

Inform next assistant operator about remaining raw materials and mixtures

Safe and healthy working conditions

Access to tools, documents, and information needed for work

Ability to suggest quality improvements

Arrive fit for work and on time

Follow workplace safety and fire regulations

Use tools properly and report damage

Follow hygiene, food safety, quality, and environmental standards

Report:

• Injuries

• Product safety concerns

• Quality issues

• Environmental risks

• Illness or absences

Handle equipment carefully
