This field-based leadership role supports Abbott’s Vascular division, which delivers innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for vascular disease treatment. As an Area Vice President (AVP), you will report to the Divisional Vice President and lead a high-performing sales organization to achieve strategic and financial goals.
· Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and margin targets (monthly/quarterly/annually)
· Align business plans with national strategic objectives and ensure KPI performance
· Partner with Enterprise Accounts to drive contract compliance and portfolio pull-through
· Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop a diverse, high-performing team
· Set clear expectations, drive accountability, and recognize achievements
· Foster a culture of collaboration, integrity, and continuous improvement
· Conduct regular 1:1s and team calls to review performance, development, and strategic initiatives
· Guide accurate forecasting and business planning at the territory, region, and area levels
· Ensure adherence to reporting systems and use of analytics tools
· Optimize field resource deployment and territory alignment
· Maintain compliance with expense reporting and training requirements
· Prioritize customer targets based on opportunity and strategic value
· Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction
· Manage pricing, contracts, and key opinion leader (KOL) relationships
· Provide market insights and customer feedback to internal stakeholders
· Lead by example and build a results-oriented, ethical team culture
· Promote cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, MedEd, Clinical Affairs, and Commercial Excellence
· Uphold Abbott’s values and ensure business needs are met with integrity
Requirements
~1 min read· Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of relevant experience
· Minimum 5+ years of successful people management
· 10+ years in medical devices, preferably in a regulated environment
· Willingness to travel 50–75% for regional/national initiatives
· MBA in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related field
