We currently have an opening for a Category Manager – Electronics Components
for our Cardiac Rhythm Management division. This role is located at our Scottsdale, AZ OR Sylmar, CA location. This is a fully onsite role.
As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Management, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.
We are seeking a high caliber and ambitious Category Manager to join our team in Abbott Medical Devices. This position will be responsible for the Electronics components category globally.
- Assess variety of supplier’s products to ensure they that they comply with specifications and meet the organization’s quality standards.
- Requires high degree of skills and independence in negotiation activities.
- Typically involved in large and/or more complex purchases and suppliers that have higher impact on the organization’s products, processes and budget.
- May coach and provide instruction to lower-level staff.
- Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in the specific area.
- Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects.
- Adapts precedent and may make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions.
- Responsible for purchasing the services and supplies necessary for the organization's operations.
- Activities include sourcing, evaluating and selecting suppliers and vendors, negotiating supply contracts, and monitoring the quality and timeliness of materials and services supplied.
- Bachelor's Degree Business, Supply Chain or related or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum 10 years Progressively responsible experience in purchasing/commodity management.
- Minimum 3 years in a highly regulated environment.
- Minimum 8 years with purchasing/commodity management software.
- Strong experience in negotiating terms in purchasing agreements.
- In depth experience in contract management.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Ability to travel approximately up to 20%, including internationally
