- Serve as the go-to technical expert for equipment reliability, responding to unplanned downtime and breakdowns
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on high-speed processing, filling, and packaging systems
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, PLC, and control systems to identify root cause and implement lasting solutions
- Design, fabricate, and install equipment improvements, including welding and machining components
- Support and lead planned shutdowns and major maintenance activities
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to optimize equipment performance
- Use data and problem-solving tools (e.g., 5 Whys, analytical troubleshooting) to drive continuous improvement
- Maintain accurate documentation using work order and inventory systems
- Mentor and train team members, sharing your technical expertise
Requirements
~1 min read- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred (mechanical/electrical or equivalent experience)
- Experience in manufacturing maintenance, ideally in a regulated environment (food, pharma, etc.)
- Strong skills in:
- Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting
- Reading schematics and blueprints
- PLC diagnostics and programming basics
- Welding, fabrication, or machining
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, alignment, etc.) preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic environment
