This position works out of our Plymouth MN  location for our Electrophysiology business. In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

The Product Performance Technician  performs receiving, decontamination, and disposal activities for returned complaint products.

  • Maintains accurate entry of complaint product return and decontamination in the applicable database
  • Read the complaint description to determine if decontamination is required
  • Working knowledge of MSDS
  • Maintains an accurate return log of all products received
  • Records condition of returned products including observations and incoming photographs
  • Adheres to universal precautions and safe chemical handling practices at all times; utilizes personal protective equipment as needed (e.g. mask and gown)
  • Performs decontamination of complaint products per procedure
  • Collaborates with other team members and departments needing complaint product return information
  • Adheres to departmental procedures for retention and disposal of product

  • Applicants with similar laboratory experience are a plus.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required
  • Candidate must be able to work well independently and on teams in a busy department while managing multiple ongoing tasks simultaneously
  • Good computer skills are required
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Physical demands include: Activities require a significant amount of time sitting in front of a computer monitor, moderate standing, walking, bending, and lifting various shaped items up to 50 pounds.  Significant use of hands and arms, plus finger dexterity to reach, point, write, type, operate a computer and other office equipment.  Performs tasks that regularly require good correctable vision and hand/eye coordination.  Activities also require significant use of voice and hearing for discussions with other employees.
