About the Role

  • Maintain constant awareness of area resources, eligibility criteria, and updates on changes in these services.
  • Participate in community-based initiatives relevant to work assignment.
  • Keeps updated on out-of-area resource information relevant to patient need.
  • Liaisons to legal, licensing and protection agencies
  • Advocates for system change to improve continuing care outcome.
    • Regularly attends required staff meetings, supervision and related projects or committee meetings.
    • Completes work as assigned
    • Completes daily statistics in timely and accurate way.
    • Participates in coverage of peers and on-call system.
    • Demonstrates collegiality and commitment relevant to the department’s mission.
    •  Provide Behavioral Health case consultation to all locations as needed
  • Responsibilities

    • Weekly supervision for all rostered pediatric psychotherapists, monthly for licensed and interns
    • All submissions of hours for master program & internships
    • OPR submissions for licensure
    • Completing Bi Annual reviews/ 90-day reviews for the pediatric psychotherapists
    • Onboarding/ training new pediatric staff who come on
    • Spearheading the internship program with CHCRR
    • Holding a caseload of 16 patients and productivity standards of 16 scheduled/ 14 billed weekly
    • Completing quarterly chart audits for pediatric psychotherapists
    • Reviewing and monitoring productivity standards and panel reports for all pediatric psychotherapists
    • Attending internal and external meetings to represent BH programs
    • Monitoring competencies/ training requirements 
    • Conducting interviews and hiring of Pediatric Psychotherapists 

     

     

     OTHER DUTIES:


    Clinical and Administrative Duties

    • Attend leader and other relevant agency meetings.

    •    Coordination of behavioral health processes, liaison between behavioral health and CHCRR administration.

    •    Coordinate referral process at all sites to improve process and productivity.

    •    Work with billing department to ensure services are being billed correctly.

    •    Implement behavioral health services into the EMR.

    •    Provide supervisory support and back-up to behavioral health crisis team.

    •    Monitoring the quality of behavioral health services.

    •    Develop ways to create new behavioral health services

    •    Develop standardized behavioral health policies and procedures.

    •    Oversee staff training and training allowance.

    • Other duties as assigned


    SKILLS REQUIRED FOR SUCCESS:

    • Licensure & Experience:
      • Possesses an unencumbered license in one of the following professions in the jurisdiction where the supervised practice occurs: a licensed clinical mental health counselor; or a licensed independent clinical social worker. 

      • Must have possessed an unencumbered license for no fewer than three years in a permitted supervisory profession listed above.

      • LICSW / LCMHC patient work and medical crisis intervention, solution-focused therapy, and knowledge of community resources or related experience; LADC a plus.

    • Clinical Expertise:
      • At least 5 years of Pediatric behavioral health and medical crisis intervention, solution- focused therapy, and knowledge of community resources or related experience

      • Experience working with pediatrics with acute mental illness and substance abuse disorders.

      • Licensed by the State of Vermont as a Clinical Social Worker or other Clinical Behavioral Health License.

      • Previous supervisory roles and professional trainings.


    Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

    • Experience working with patients with acute mental illness and substance abuse disorders.
    • Must have knowledge and understanding of policies and must adhere to them.
    • NASW, AMHCA code of conduct, principles, and regulations. 
    • Psychosocial assessments, utilization, and case management principles.
    • Individual and family supportive counseling and advocacy.
    • Interdisciplinary collaboration.
    • Familiarity with regulatory standards relevant to acute inpatient and outpatient psychological services.
    • Verbal and written communication skills.
    • Clinical standards of practice and licensure requirements
    • Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills
    • Managed-care experience a plus
