Job Summary

• Assist in the development and Implementation of the Retail and Business Banking performance Management process, working with the Head Data Analytics, Business Planning Manager and unit managers to translate/relate business objectives into role specific performance plans for our people.

• Support the RBB Resourcing and Development Officer to ensure that monitoring tools developed are applied and effectiveness of training and other ‘people development’ activities are properly monitored.

• Embed the importance of data integrity.

• Analyse MI for Retail and Business Banking and Provide recommendations for improvement.

• Identify and evaluate improvements in performance and present in a compelling and coherent manner.

• Provide Business intelligence information and recommendation to Head Data Analytics.

• Champion initiatives across Retail and Business Banking via relevant MI generation.

• Planning, organising and controlling the MI reporting framework.

• Improving information content

• Develop all RBB Balanced scorecards.

• Pursue self-development to increase personal effectiveness, acknowledging strengths and areas for development.

• Work closely with the analytics team to deliver exceptional business performance through the provision of first-class MI and business improvement initiatives.

• Share best practise with, and provide feedback to, other members of the Analytics team on all business and people related issues, climate and local development and initiatives.

• Build effective relationships, influence and motivate team leaders to ensure their wholehearted commitment to effective application of performance management.

• Understand technical/regulatory matters affecting the business. Ultimate responsibility for the continuing compliance.

• Ensure Governance, Compliance, Risk and Control are implemented and adhered to meet Group Standards by Centre. Staff at all levels to be clear on what is expected of them. Any new regulatory or Group requirements are implemented and reviewed throughout Absa in a timely fashion.

• Excellent programming and system modelling skills; data modelling, structured analysis, object-oriented analysis, programming tools: SQL, Python, R, etc

• Excellent skills in data mining, relation database management systems and programming languages:

• Ability to query databases like MySQL, MSSQL, Hadoop and PostgreSQL.

• Ability to efficiently play and maneuver with large sums of data to accurately derive intended result

• Database administration and development skills

• Report Automation.

• Good reporting and presentation skills using modern Data Analytics and AI tools like Power BI and others.

• Excellent business analytical skills for performance measurement and reporting.

Knowledge & Skills:

• University degree preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Physics, (Essential)

• Data Engineering or Data Science related certifications [Essential].

• Experience in programming and data mining (Essential)

• Excellent understanding of Retail and Business Banking products & services
