Clinical Team Leader

Location: New Rochelle, NY Hours: M-F 35 hours weekly Salary: $85,000 Licensure Required: LCSW/LMHC/LMFT   Make a Difference Where Students Need It Most   The Guidance Center of Westchester (TGCW) is seeking a Clinical Team Leader to provide clinical leadership, supervision, and direct care within our growing school-based mental health programs. This is an opportunity for an experienced clinician who wants to do more than manage a caseload. The Clinical Team Leader serves as a clinical resource, mentor, collaborator, and advocate—supporting a team of dedicated behavioral health professionals while helping students and families access high-quality mental health and addiction services where they live, learn, and grow. Working at the intersection of mental health and education, the Clinical Team Leader partners with school personnel, families, community providers, and TGCW colleagues to remove barriers to care and help young people succeed. The role combines meaningful direct clinical work with supervision, leadership, program development, and quality improvement. We are looking for a clinician who brings strong clinical judgment, curiosity, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to helping both clients and colleagues thrive.   What You’ll Do:   Clinical Leadership & Direct Care Provide clinical leadership and consultation to a multidisciplinary school-based behavioral health team. Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments and develop individualized, trauma-informed treatment plans. Provide individual, family, and group therapy to children and adolescents in school-based and outpatient settings. Maintain a clinical caseload while balancing the responsibilities of team leadership and supervision. Provide clinical consultation and support around complex, high-risk, and crisis situations. Coordinate care with families, schools, medical providers, community agencies, and other members of the treatment team. Participate in psychiatric evaluation and treatment planning in collaboration with medical providers. Use in-person and telehealth services creatively and effectively to increase engagement and access to care. Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation in electronic health records and required reporting systems. Supervision, Mentorship & Team Development Provide weekly clinical supervision to school-based clinicians. Develop and support clinicians through thoughtful, strengths-based supervision, consultation, coaching, and mentorship. Help clinicians strengthen their assessment, treatment planning, documentation, crisis intervention, and clinical decision-making skills. Review clinical documentation to promote quality care, regulatory compliance, and appropriate billing. Support staff in navigating complex clinical situations, mandated reporting responsibilities, ethical issues, and professional boundaries. Participate in performance evaluations and ongoing professional development. Facilitate staff development and training, including the implementation of evidence-based and trauma-informed practices. Foster a team culture characterized by collaboration, psychological safety, accountability, inclusion, and continuous learning. Program & Operational Leadership Help oversee the day-to-day clinical operations of school-based service sites. Partner with school administrators, student support teams, teachers, families, and community providers to strengthen coordination of care. Serve as a key liaison between TGCW and host schools, helping develop strong relationships and identify opportunities to expand access to behavioral health services. Participate in candidate interviews and contribute to hiring and team-building decisions in collaboration with Human Resources and organizational leadership. Monitor scheduling, supervision documentation, timesheets, and other operational processes that support effective service delivery. Conduct chart reviews and participate in internal and external audits, including reviews related to NYS Office of Mental Health and insurance requirements. Represent The Guidance Center of Westchester at interagency meetings, school-based meetings, and organizational initiatives. If you are an experienced clinician who is ready to lead, mentor, collaborate, and make a broader impact on the lives of young people, we invite you to bring your clinical expertise and leadership to the Access: Network.   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:   Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field Current state licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent) required; Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and families Prior experience working in school-based or community mental health settings preferred Experience conducting psychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and individual/group/family therapy Experience with crisis assessment, suicide risk assessment, and behavioral intervention Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and external service providers Experience implementing evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care approaches Training in crisis prevention/intervention, restorative practices, or behavioral management preferred Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, since travel between school sites is required
