Are you an experienced HR Coordinator or Generalist ready to step into leadership, build your leadership experience, and make a real difference in people's lives?
At Access Community Care, we support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)—and we know that taking care of our team is key to taking care of our participants.
A Big Role with Built-In Support
HR can sometimes feel like working on an island, but you won't be doing it alone here. You will work in direct partnership with agency leadership and an experienced external HR consultant. This means you get to lead daily HR operations, shape company culture, and grow professionally while having experienced support and strong mentorship behind you every step of the way.
What You'll Do
As our Human Resources Manager, you will handle day-to-day HR operations and office support while collaborating with leadership on broader culture and team initiatives:
Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead hiring, interviewing, and orientation to bring compassionate DSPs and staff onto our team.
Payroll & HRIS: Process accurate biweekly payroll using Paychex and maintain organized employee records in BambooHR.
Compliance & Policy: Partner with our external HR consultant to ensure compliance with federal, state, and ODHS/ODDS regulations, keeping policies and our handbook up to date.
Employee Relations & Coaching: Assist with performance management, employee coaching, and conflict resolution with guidance from leadership and our consultant.
Culture & Engagement: Drive employee retention, organize team recognition activities, and cultivate a supportive, positive workplace.
Office & Operations Support: Coordinate workers’ compensation claims, assist with agency recertifications, and keep general office administration running efficiently.
What We're Looking For
Experience: 2–3+ years of hands-on HR experience (e.g., HR Coordinator, Specialist, or Generalist ready for a step-up opportunity).
Software Skills: Hands-on experience with payroll software (preferably Paychex) and modern HRIS platforms (like BambooHR).
Compliance Knowledge: Basic knowledge of Oregon employment laws and a willingness to learn state/ODHS/ODDS compliance with expert guidance.
Mindset & Attributes: Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, a clear communicator, and passionate about supporting employees.
Bilingual: English/Spanish fluency is a plus!
Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old and pass all required background checks.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
Mentorship & Growth: Gain valuable leadership experience with direct guidance from company owners and an external HR consultant, plus 12 hours of paid professional leadership training annually.
Predictable Work-Life Balance: Standard Monday–Friday daytime hours with limited weekend or after-hours needs.
