ACRS seeks a full-time Temporary Intake and Assessment Counselor II who conducts comprehensive intake assessments to determine service needs and eligibility, develops initial service plans, and provides outpatient counseling, crisis support, case management, and care coordination.  Provides culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and person-centered behavioral health services to children, youth, and families enrolled in the Children’s Mental Health Program. Collaborates with families, psychiatric providers, schools, community partners, and other systems of care to support client wellness, stability, and access to appropriate mental health services. Ensures services are delivered in a culturally and linguistically responsive manner that promotes equity, engagement, and positive treatment outcomes. ***Schedule: Mon Fri, no weekend work!   COMPETITIVE BENEFITS PACKAGE INCLUDES: Pay range is between $65,000 to $70,400 annually.  Benefits (After 60 days) ACRS pays 100% for employee only HMO/Virtual Plus medical benefits.  Additional options are covered anywhere from 75% to 85%. Vision insurance is available at a very minimal cost. ACRS pays 100% of your life, AD&D and long-term disability insurance on or coinciding with your date of hire. Employer paid ORCA card and vanpool program. Free on site parking available at Main Office. Employee Assistance Program.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Conducts person-centered mental health intake assessments at the agency and off-site to determine medical necessity using DSM-V-TR, level of care tools, etc., and developing initial individual service plan based on intake assessment.  Obtains and reviews relevant clinical records, medical records, legal documents, to determine appropriateness for mental health services.  Provides outpatient mental health counseling and case management to children, youth, and their families in a variety of therapeutic modalities. Consults and collaborates with other professional agencies and systems on client evaluations and treatment plans. Supports the coordination with enrolled patient, families, program staff, and psychiatrist fellows for psychiatrist evaluations and medication management appointments Prepares concise, complete, and accurate program documentation and administrative reports according to agency policy and system standards.  Expected to meet program documentation and data reporting standards.    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Master’s degree in Social or Behavioral Health Science; AND Must be registered with Washington Professional Licensing Department.  Cultural Humility: Demonstrates respect and sensitivity when providing services to individuals from diverse cultural, racial, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.  Delivers care in a manner that is responsive to each client’s cultural beliefs, values, and practices. Contributes to a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment in support of the agency’s equity, inclusion, diversity, and belonging values.  Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of DSM V terminology and diagnostic criteria, ability to respond effectively in urgent situations.  Knowledge of: human development principles and characteristics of mental, behavioral, and emotional conditions; current social/economic problems; interview techniques; individual and group behavior; treatment methods with children, youth, young adults.  Strong clinical interview techniques & demonstrate ability to analyze and draw conclusions from case records; apply casework principles to individual situations; knowledge of diagnostic procedures, and exercise judgment.  Effective interpersonal communication skills with program staff, clients, families, and other community partners.  Effective organizational and time management skills to balance clinical and administrative tasks.   Ability to work independently and as a team member with program staff. Fluency in one ore more Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander language preferred.  Technical Skills: Proficient in using modern workplace technology, including collaboration tools, communication platforms, and business applications for document creation, scheduling, and data management. Able to learn new systems quickly, navigate digital workflows, and use online tools and resources to support day-to-day work.  Additional Requirements: Must have reliable transportation. If using a personal or agency vehicle to fulfill job duties, must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under ACRS’s auto policy. If using personal vehicle, must have current auto insurance.  Follows all agency policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.    WORKING CONDITIONS: The position requires regular mobility within the office or workspace, may involve sitting for extended periods throughout the day and the ability to handle objects, tools, or controls.  Occasional lifting or moving of up to 20 pounds may be required. Involves tasks where visual acuity is beneficial.  This position is hybrid, with work divided between remote and on-site locations. Approximately 50% of the work will be performed remotely (telecommuting), while the remaining 50% will be conducted on-site. These hybrid work expectations are subject to change at the agency’s discretion. The noise level in the on-site work environment is moderate.
