Role Description:
The Associate Veterinarian will perform routine examinations, diagnose and treat medical conditions, perform surgical and dental procedures, and provide preventive care for companion animals. Daily responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, and ensuring clear communication with clients regarding their pets’ health and care options. The role involves working closely with veterinary technicians and support staff to deliver high-quality, compassionate care and maintain accurate medical records. The Associate Veterinarian will also contribute to patient follow-up, client education, and ongoing improvement of clinical protocols.

Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) degree from an accredited institution and current, or eligible, veterinary license in the state of Maryland.
- Strong clinical skills in small animal medicine, surgery, and dentistry, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with clients and colleagues, providing clear explanations and compassionate guidance.
- Commitment to animal welfare, client service, and practicing evidence-based medicine in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate medical records and managing multiple cases.
- Comfort working in an on-site clinical setting, including occasional emergency or urgent care support as needed.
- Prior experience in a small animal practice is preferred; new graduates with a willingness to learn and be mentored are encouraged to apply.
- Willingness to participate in continuing education and stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine and patient care.
