PAYROLL ADMINISTRATOR
Compensation: Starting salary of $52,000 - $73,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.

Young Associates is a financial services firm providing payroll, bookkeeping, business management, training, and consulting services primarily to arts and charitable organizations. Since 1993, we have partnered with organizations across Canada to provide accurate financial information, strong administrative processes, and practical support that helps them achieve their goals.
Position Overview
The Payroll Administrator provides accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services to a portfolio of clients, including payroll processing, reconciliations, benefits administration, compliance activities, and client support. This position is part of a collaborative payroll and bookkeeping team and may include bookkeeping and other client service activities based on business needs and professional development goals.
Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
- Process payroll for assigned clients, including new hires, terminations, payroll changes, taxable benefits, deductions, bonuses, retroactive pay adjustments, and ROEs
- Complete payroll reconciliations, reporting, and year-end processing
- Administer benefits, pension, and WSIB/WCB programs
Client Service
- Respond to client payroll inquiries
- Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure timely service delivery
- Support bookkeeping and other client service activities as required
Bookkeeping and Administrative Support
- Assist with bookkeeping and related client service activities as required
- Support account reconciliations and financial record keeping
- Collaborate with bookkeeping team members to support client service delivery
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and reporting requirements
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and client information
Qualifications + Experience
- Payroll administration experience
- Working knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation
- Experience with payroll systems like Wagepoint, Humi, Dayforce, ADP, or similar
- Intermediate Excel skills (formulas, lookups, and pivot tables)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- PCP designation is required
- Bookkeeping experience or accounting education is considered an asset
