JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Cardiothoracic Surgery Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Paducah, KY Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Call only Coverage Period: Dec 24, 2026 – Ongoing Call Schedule: 24-hr call (7a-7a); 4-7 shifts per month Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance Covered COVERAGE DATES Dec 24, 2026 – Dec 28, 2026 (most prio) Dec 28, 2026 – Jan 04, 2027 PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adult, Geriatric Average Daily Volume: 1-2 CT Surgical Cases Annual ER Volume: 30,000 Case Mix: Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery FACILITY INFORMATION EMR: Epic Specialty Backup: Anesthesia, ICU, Cardiology Support Staff: First Assist with Endoscopic Saphenous Vein Harvest experience, focused anethesthia team dedicated CT surgery, collaborative and helpful ICU No. of ORs: 1 Heart, 1 Hybrid PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 90 days REQUIRED PROCEDURES Adult Cardiac Surgery (CABG, Valve Repair/Replacement) General Thoracic Surgery (Tube Thoracostomy, Tracheostomy, Bronchoscopy, VATS, Pericardial Window) ICU Management of high-risk cases (Impella Insertion/Removal/Bailout) Structural Heart Procedure Support (in Hybrid OR / Cath Lab) JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC Licenses: Active KY License or willing to obtain Certifications: BLS Experience: Impella and Structural Heart Support experience required Must be available for one set of dates listed Clean record Duties & Responsibilities Perform Adult Cardiac Surgery including CABG and valve repair/replacement. Perform General Thoracic Surgery procedures. Manage ICU care for high-risk cardiac surgery patients, including Impella support. Provide Structural Heart Procedure Support in Hybrid OR/Cath Lab. Collaborate with anesthesia and ICU teams for patient care.
