JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD-130338 Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Johnson City, Tennessee Coverage Period: Jul 31, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 6a–6p and 6p–6a Reason for Coverge: Coverge Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 66 patients per day Case Mix: Consistent with EM procedures including medical, surgical, pediatric, cardiology, GI, ortho (transfers within system) Rounding: Not Included Phone Consults: Not specified FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 20 ED beds (80 hospital beds facility) Trauma Level: Not specified EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Hospitalist, OB, General Surgery, Urology, ENT; transfers for Peds, Cardiology, GI, Ortho Support Staff Available: APPs (22 hrs/day), RNs, residents rotating through ED PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Not specified JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Must pass board specialty exam (ABEM, ABFM, ABIM, ABPS, AOA); BC in Emergency Medicine or primary care Licenses: Active unrestricted TN Medical license & DEA with TN address (schedules 2,2N,3,3N,4,5) DEA / CDS: Included in license requirement Certifications: ACLS, ATLS, PALS required if not BC in EM; NRP required for Non-ABEM providers Experience: Residency training (3 years) from accredited MD/DO program; ECFMG for foreign graduates Other Qualifications: Case logs for last 2 years, CME including Preeclampsia-Eclampsia, immunization documentation (MMR/Varicella, TB test/Chest X-ray if positive) DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in the ED Supervise and collaborate with NPs and PAs working in the department Work 12-hour rotating shifts (6a–6p and 6p–6a) with an extra physician shift Monday, Wednesday, Friday Coordinate with specialty backup (HM, OB, Gen Surgery, Urology, ENT) and facilitate transfers as needed Participate in resident education as they rotate through the ED
