JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Meridian, MS • Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: 05/28/2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Nocturnist Coverage; Flexible Scheduling COVERAGE DATES • Start Date: May 28, 2026 • End Date: Ongoing • Coverage Requested Due to Staffing Needs • Facility Seeking 3 Nocturnists PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: All Ages • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 33,350 Annual ED Visits • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Not Included • Case Mix: High Acuity Emergency Medicine FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 32 ED Beds • Trauma Level: Level III • EMR System: Epic • Office Equipment Available: Fully Equipped Emergency Department • Specialty Backup Available: Multispecialty Support Within Health System • Support Staff Available: 36 Hours of Physician Coverage Daily; 17 Hours of NP/PA Coverage Daily • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Weekly OT After 168 Hours: Per Contract Terms • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Evaluation and management of high acuity emergency cases • Trauma stabilization and emergency interventions • Coordination with specialty services as clinically indicated JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Mississippi Medical License • Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine • DEA: Active Mississippi DEA Required • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS Required if Not ABEM Certified • Experience: Minimum 2 Years Emergency Medicine Experience; Case Logs Required • Other Qualifications: Must Have State License, Board Certification, and DEA in Hand at Time of Presentation DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care in a Level III Trauma Center • Manage high acuity patient cases during nocturnist coverage • Collaborate with NP/PA providers and multidisciplinary staff • Document all encounters accurately within Epic EMR • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and quality standards
