JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Whiteville, NC • Service Setting: Emergency Department (Hospital) • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: June 5, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Variable shifts including days and nights PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: All ages • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 24,000 annual visits • Admissions: Included • Phone Consults: Included • Case Mix: General emergency medicine cases FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 12 ED beds (5 fast track) • EMR System: Cerner • Office Equipment Available: Standard ED equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Limited subspecialty support • Support Staff Available: 24-hour physician coverage with 20–24 hours NP/PA coverage • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: TBD REQUIRED PROCEDURES • General emergency medicine procedures JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active NC license required • Board: BC/BE in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine • DEA: Active NC DEA required • Certifications: ACLS, PALS, ATLS required (if not ABEM) • Experience: Recent graduates accepted • Other Qualifications: Must be comfortable with full-scope ED privileges DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide emergency department care for all patient presentations • Manage patient care independently during shifts • Collaborate with NP/PA support staff • Coordinate care with available specialty services • Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner EMR
