JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Emergency Medicine • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Marion, VA • Service Setting: Community Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: August 1, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7p – 7a PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults and Pediatrics • Patient Volume/Census: TBD • Admissions: Included • Rounding: Included • Case Mix: Emergency Medicine FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 26 Acute Care Beds • Trauma Level: TBD • EMR System: Epic • Office Equipment Available: Standard Emergency Department equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Tele-support for admissions and floor call • Support Staff Available: ED Physicians and Tele-support teams PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: TBD REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Emergency Medicine evaluations • Acute patient stabilization • Codes and rapid response management JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active unrestricted VA medical license required • Board: Board Certified in EM, FM, or IM • DEA: Active DEA with VA address and schedules 2, 2N, 3, 3N, 4, and 5 • Certifications: • ACLS required • ATLS and PALS required if not EM-trained • NRP required for non-ABEM providers • Experience: • Completion of approved EM, FM, or IM residency program • New EM residency graduates may be considered with 3-month proctorship • Case logs from the past 2 years required • Other Qualifications: • ECFMG required for foreign medical graduates • Current immunizations and TB screening required • Preeclampsia CME required for initial application and reappointments DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide overnight Emergency Medicine coverage • Evaluate and manage emergency department patients • Handle codes and rapid response events • Maintain accurate Epic documentation • Collaborate with tele-support and multidisciplinary teams
