JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: General Cardiology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Tucson, AZ • Service Setting: Outpatient (with hospital call coverage) • Coverage Type: Clinical + Call • Coverage Period: June 1,2026 – Aug 4,2026 • Clinical Shift Schedule: M–F; 8a – 5p • On-Call Shift Schedule: Weekends (3rd week of each month includes 7 consecutive days; additional dates July 24 – Aug 2) • Call Type: Beeper COVERAGE DATES • June 1, 2026 – August 4, 2026 • Jul 24 – Aug 2, 2026 (additional required coverage) PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adult cardiology patients • Patient Volume/Census: Clinic 25–30/day; Hospital 5–20/day • Admissions: Yes (~3 per call cycle) • Rounding: Included (assigned patients; ~5–20) • Case Mix: General cardiology (outpatient and inpatient), ICU exposure, diagnostic and interventional cardiology FACILITY INFORMATION • EMR System: Cerner • Specialty Backup Available: Full cardiology and hospital support services • Reason for Coverage: Vacancy – Supplemental PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Temporary Privileges Available: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • Echocardiography and TEE • Nuclear cardiology studies • Cardiac catheterization • STEMI management • Invasive and non-invasive cardiology procedures JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active AZ license or IMLC • Board: BC in Cardiology • Certifications: ACLS DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide outpatient cardiology clinic coverage • Manage inpatient cardiology consults and admissions • Perform rounding on assigned patients • Respond to call coverage including phone consults and inpatient needs • Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures as required
