JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Nurse Practitioner Specialty: NP - Neonatology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Marquette, MI 49855 Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Nov 18, 2026 – Ongoing Call Schedule: 6a – 6p in-house, 6p – 6a on-call (24-hour shifts) On-Call Shift Schedule: 6p – 6a Call Type: In-House Call Response Time: 15 minutes Reason for Coverage: Scheduling Need Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Neonates (Level III NICU) Average Daily Volume: 10 patients/day Admissions: 1 Rounding: Assigned Patients Phone Consults: 2 Case Mix: Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Pulmonary Hypertension, Pneumothorax, Sepsis, Seizures, VLBW, NAS, stabilization for surgical transport FACILITY INFORMATION Support Staff: RNs: 3-6, Office Staff: 2 Office Equipment Available: MRI, CT, EEG, conventional ventilators, oscillators, iNO, CPAP, hiflo cannulas Specialty Backup Available: General Pediatrics, Pediatric Neurology, Infectious Disease, University of Michigan Cardiology and Ophthalmology (contract), Mott Children's Hospital, DeVos Children's Hospital, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin Trauma Level: II EMR System: Cerner PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: No JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC required (Certified) Licenses: Licensed in MI Certifications: PALS, NRP Experience: Level III NICU experience preferred Other Qualifications: Proficient in intubation, chest tube placement, central line placement, paracentesis, spinal taps, exchange transfusion, thermal cooling, ventilator management (oscillators and iNO) Duties & Responsibilities Provide 24-hour in-house and on-call coverage for Level III NICU Manage neonates with respiratory distress, pulmonary hypertension, sepsis, and other complex conditions Perform necessary procedures including intubation, line placement, and spinal taps Stabilize and coordinate transport for surgical cases Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including RNs, RTs, and consulting specialists
