JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: L-MD-76540 Profession: Physician Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Cape Girardeau, MO 63701 Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: ASAP – Jul 01, 2027 Shift Schedule: TBD 20 days per month (clinic) On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour call shifts, 1:3 ratio Call Type: Beeper Call Ratio: 1:3 Call Response Time: 15 min Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 0-8 Rounding: Assigned Patients Phone Consults: Varies Case Mix: Obstetrics, Gynecology, High-risk pregnancy, Surgical gynecology FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: 3 Midwife backup support as scheduled; CRNA 24/7, RT 24/7, 1st Assist Surgical Support Staff: PA/NPs: 2 PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: No Temporary Privileges Available: No REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required Low risk pregnancy High risk pregnancy FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE) Routine delivery: Vaginal, Decision-making for c-section Complicated delivery: C-section, Multiple births, Abruptions Surgical gynecology (Operative/major (includes diagnostic) (ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA's)) JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC required – Certified Licenses: Universal License (IMLC) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ATLS Duties & Responsibilities Provide comprehensive obstetric care including low- and high-risk pregnancy management, routine and complicated deliveries, and C-sections Perform gynecological surgical procedures including operative/major cases such as ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, and extensive LOA's Participate in 24-hour call rotation on a 1:3 ratio for OB/GYN emergencies and patient consults Provide outpatient clinic services 20 days per month, managing a full spectrum of OB/GYN conditions Collaborate with midwives, CRNAs, RNs, and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings
