JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Hood River, OR 97031 Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Coverage Period: Sep 01, 2026 – Ongoing Shift Schedule: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, 8a – 5p On-Call Shift Schedule: Weeknight Beeper (5p – 7a) and 24-hour Weekend Beeper Call Type: Beeper Call Response Time: 20-30 minutes Reason for Coverage: Vacancy - Long-Term Permanent Search Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 15 patients/day Case Mix: OB/GYN, deliveries, minor GYN, and OR surgeries FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Support Staff: RNs: 2, MAs: 4 PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: No REQUIRED PROCEDURES Required: Low risk pregnancy FHR interpretation (NST/CST/FSE) OB Ultrasounds (Performance of, interpretation) Level I/Screening (viability) Routine delivery Vaginal Low forceps Decision-making for c-section Complicated delivery C-section Breech Multiple births Abruptions VBAC's Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations Office/minor gynecology (IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.) Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor only (tubal ligation, LOA's, chronal tubation) Operative/major (includes diagnostic) (ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA's) Preferred: High risk pregnancy Surgical gynecology Open JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC or BE within 3-5 years Licenses: Licensed in OR DEA: Yes Certifications: BLS, NRP Experience: Must provide case logs from the past 24 months to obtain OB and GYN privileges Duties & Responsibilities Provide full-time clinical coverage in an outpatient setting four days per week. Take 8 shifts of beeper call per month, including one 24-hour weekend shift. Perform in-office procedures and minor GYN or OR surgeries. Manage OB/GYN patient care, including deliveries and emergency ectopic cases. Participate in a virtual interview with the clinical team.
