JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Pathology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Saranac Lake, NY • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: July 2, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00a – 4:30p PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: Varies based on surgical schedule • Case Mix: Predominantly GI pathology cases FACILITY INFORMATION • EMR System: Meditech • Office Equipment Available: Standard pathology lab equipment • Specialty Backup Available: Backup pathologist and outside lab support • Support Staff Available: Grossing tech (with occasional backup grossing required) PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Rate: TBD • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES • General surgical pathology • Cytopathology • Frozen sections • Basic clinical pathology JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active NY license required • Board: Board Certified Pathology • Certifications: TBD • Experience: Experience with frozen sections required • Other Qualifications: FNA capability preferred but not required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform surgical pathology and cytopathology evaluations • Analyze frozen sections for surgical cases • Review and interpret pathology specimens • Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams • Ensure accurate and timely reporting
