MassLive, the largest news and information website in Massachusetts, is looking for a high school sports social-first creator to help lead an expansion that builds on our outstanding team and coverage as MassLive becomes a truly statewide authority in high school sports.
This is a creator-first role for a personality-driven storyteller who can find and tell original stories across Massachusetts, take fans into spaces they have never been and bring the people, programs, rivalries and traditions that define high school sports to audiences across the state. You'll have the freedom to develop your own voice, formats and recurring franchises while working with an established newsroom and a large statewide audience.
You'll play a leading role in helping build Massachusetts' premier statewide high school sports brand and defining how high school sports are covered and experienced across social, video and live platforms.
We are looking for someone who can work alongside our High School Sports Editor and collaborate with our statewide high school sports team and social team. The ideal candidate will be an engaging on-camera presence who understands how to spark conversation, build community and grow a loyal audience, with a particular focus on reaching the next generation of high school sports fans and athletes.
The creator will develop original concepts and take ownership of projects from idea through publication. The role includes reporting and writing across the state, including rankings, all-state teams, lists, polls, breaking news, enterprise reporting and feature stories.

Build audience engagement by starting conversations, earning trust and growing community over time.
Work quickly and independently to produce timely content from games, events and breaking news situations.
Contribute reporting and writing to MassLive’s broader statewide high school sports coverage strategy.
