Provides direct support to children under the supervision of ECSE, PT, OT, SLP, MT, and BCBA to assist in developing cognitive, communication, self-help, social, motor, and sensory processing skills. Assists with self-care routines including diapering, feeding, toilet training, and hand washing. Prepares materials and equipment, organizes the classroom and storage areas, and assists with maintaining and ordering supplies. Substitutes for teachers and/or paraprofessionals when they are absent. Participates in therapy sessions and parent conferences as appropriate. Supports the operations by helping to maintain a clean and hygienic environment, including duties such as un/loading dishwasher, cleaning the pool, and washing toys. Collaborates with other team members including ECSE, PT, OT, SLP, MT, and BCBAs. Works with team to support individual child and family needs to access community resources. Trains and educates students, interns, volunteers, and patient’s family members. Maintains a professional team relationship with co-workers by being considerate of workloads, assisting with duties, and supporting their continued growth. Communicates honestly and confronts issues and problems in a private setting. Utilizes computer access confidentially and appropriately, following HIPAA guidelines, including appropriate use of social media. Other duties as assigned.
